Welcome to General Gayety, a blog for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender folks, queers, allies, humor fans and . . . anybody else.

Before this blog existed, General Gayety was simply the name of my humor column, which ran and still runs in LGBT publications around the country. The column tackles all matters of concern to the LGBTQ community, from marriage equality to fundamentalists to gay penguins.

On this site, you'll find a new column every other Monday. You'll also find This Week's Quote every Tuesday, and the Question of the Week every Thursday, your chance to comment on weighty and lightweight gay matters. You'll also find a bevy of other posts addressing the issues of the day or the irritant of the moment.

And now for something completely new: the Guest Post. If you want to write gay funnies for an audience, consider sending me a piece. Here are the specs: It must be on an LGBT topic, between 400-600 words, and not wildly sexual or profane. To submit a piece or ask questions, contact me at lesarobinson@gmail.com.
