Make It So

The real final frontier is about to be crossed.

"Star Trek:  Discovery," set to air next year on CBS, will feature a same-sex couple.  Out actors Wilson Cruz and Anthony Rapp will play the first gay couple in the 51-year history of the "Star Trek" franchise.

Wow.  Somebody has set phasers to stun.

That somebody is "Discovery" creator Bryan Fuller, who worked on "Star Trek:  Voyager" in the '90s and remembers the stiff opposition he encountered to including a gay character back then.

Things have changed.  Now resistance is, well, you know.
