Trump's Trifecta

On one day this week, as The New York Times pointed out, the Trump administration took three separate steps to roll back LGBT civil rights.

It made for a helluva Wednesday.

Briefly, Trump tweeted a ban on transgender people serving in the military; the Justice Department intervened in a private employment lawsuit, arguing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 doesn't protect gay workers; Trump announced he's nominating Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback, who likes gay people as much as he likes kidney stones, to be the nation's ambassador at large for international religious freedom.

On that day, said HRC leader Chad Griffin, Trump "truly declared war on our community."

Poor Wednesday.  It never meant to start a war.
